One of the major benefits of alfi® is that, as a centralised data warehouse, it contains a huge amount of organisational financial data. From a management information (MI) point of view this gives a “single version of the truth” meaning that the same question asked of various parts of the business will came back with the same answer (which is not always the case!).
Your account level data is loaded into alfi® on a “regular” (daily, weekly or monthly) basis and held for as long as you like to allow for historical and comparative reporting.

There are many tools available to you to turn this data into meaningful information. The options available include (but are not limited to)…
In addition Excel can be used to connect to the cube or the database to create standard reports or to run ad-hoc queries with all the usual Excel functionality (graphs, conditional formatting etc.) available to you to produce highly informative and graphically rich information.
If you use Excel 2010 you can also use the Power Pivot functionality to further empower your self-service users so that can quickly analyse millions of rows of information.
In the modern world users require information to be delivered to them in a variety of ways.
Dashboards are a great way of allowing users to see business critical information in a clear and concise format. These can be tailored to individuals needs and are automatically refreshed each time that the data is imported meaning that your users can keep their fingers on the pulse of your organization.

Another benefit of dashboards is that they can, security permitting, allow instant worldwide visibility. Your information consumers can always have access to the information they need as soon as it is available, including download to mobile devices such as smart phones, ensuring your consumers always have access to the latest information.
To avoid users having to look for the information they require, alfi® can be configured to allow regular reports to be run and delivered to users by email. Thus when users arrive in the office their reports are in their inbox ready to start work rather than having to wait for reports to be produced / printed.
